ownership and hence the associated risks and gains from the transaction. As part
owner of the property, the Bank is entitled to earn rent on its share.
Conventional banks do not take ownership of property. They simply lend money. The
risks associated with the property are not accepted. Hence according to Shariah,
they are not entitled to earn on the money loaned out.
